The Simón Bolívar Andean University, Ecuador Campus, through its Publications Office, is committed to protecting the privacy of the information provided by authors, reviewers, editors, and users, while ensuring a transparent and ethical editorial process in accordance with international standards.

All personal and academic information provided during the submission, evaluation, editing, and publication processes will be treated as strictly confidential. The University implements technical and administrative measures to protect this data against unauthorized access, in accordance with current regulations. Users have the right to access, correct, or request the deletion of their information through the institution’s official channels.

During the editorial process, essential data such as full names, institutional affiliation, email addresses, and academic identifiers (ORCID) will be collected. This information will be used exclusively to:

Manage the peer review, editing, and publication process.

Ensure the correct attribution of authorship and institutional affiliation.

Facilitate communication among participants in the editorial process.

Generate usage statistics to improve the platform’s services.

 

The University undertakes not to share this data with third parties for purposes unrelated to editorial management, except where required by law. Participants declare that the information provided is accurate and up-to-date.

The Publications Office maintains an unwavering commitment to scientific integrity at every stage of the process:

 

Adherence to Best Practices: We strictly adhere to the principles of transparency and the guidelines for ethical conduct established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Originality Protocols: All works undergo a technical review using specialized similarity detection software (Turnitin). Any evidence of plagiarism or duplicate submission will result in immediate rejection.

Confidentiality and Evaluation: The peer-review process is conducted under a “double-blind” system, ensuring that the identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential to guarantee an impartial evaluation free of conflicts of interest.

Respect for Intellectual Property: We promote a culture of respect for copyright, where each manuscript is supported by ethical management that protects both intellectual creation and institutional prestige.
