Community-based tourism and post-capitalism in Ayampe, Manabí
Synopsis
This study analyzes community-based tourism in Ayampe as a practice of emancipation and post-capitalism. Through “healing tourism” and disciplines such as yoga, it proposes a reappropriation of the body and nature in the face of systemic exploitation. The research highlights how local management and ecological awareness transform the territory into a space of holistic well-being, challenging traditional metrics of success and fostering a life-centered economy.
