Synopsis

Through 27 personal accounts, this book examines the worldview, commitment, and grassroots activism of a generation of militants from Ecuador’s “New Left” (MRT, MIR, PSRE, MRIC, and AUP) between 1970 and 1985. The text analyzes how these young people devoted themselves to the political struggle amid a context of ongoing dictatorships and social unrest in the country, inspired by the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and other international milestones of the era.
