Time Bank: Alternative Economy for Local Development in the Metropolitan District of Quito
Synopsis
The Time Bank model in Quito has emerged as a solidarity-based economic alternative to capitalism, focused on citizen participation and community exchange. Drawing on the experience of the project launched by the Esquel Foundation and UNDEF, a practical methodology has been developed to implement this system in San José de Pomasqui. The primary goal is to revitalize the local social fabric by creating jobs and dignified opportunities based on reciprocity.
