Personal Data Protection Policy for the Academic Journals and Books Platforms of Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, Sede Ecuador

Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, Sede Ecuador (UASB-E), as the data controller responsible for the processing of personal data, extends its greetings to the authors, contributors, and users of its academic journal (OJS) and book (OMP) platforms, and hereby informs them that the personal data included in publications will be processed in accordance with the Organic Law on Personal Data Protection (LOPDP), its regulations, and the guidelines issued by the Superintendency of Personal Data Protection.

Personal data —such as names, identification details, institutional affiliation, email addresses, images, or other content associated with publications— are used exclusively for academic, research, and knowledge dissemination purposes, as well as for the proper attribution of authorship.

UASB-E adopts the necessary measures to protect this information and prevent its misuse. Consequently, the published data may not be used for purposes other than those stated herein, such as unsolicited communications, commercial uses, or any other processing incompatible with the aforementioned purposes.To exercise the rights established under the LOPDP, data subjects must review the procedures and communication channels provided in the Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy of Universidad Andina Simón Bolívar, Sede Ecuador, available on the institutional website www.uasb.edu.ec.
