Introduction to Comparative Qualitative Analysis
Keywords:
analysis, qualitative, methodology, holistic, systemicSynopsis
Social phenomena can rarely be attributed to isolated causes. They are generally the result of a variety of interrelated, intricately intertwined factors that are often difficult to untangle. Comparative Qualitative Analysis (CQA) offers social researchers a set of concepts and tools based on set theory and fuzzy logic for the study of social complexity. QCA is often positioned halfway between qualitative and quantitative analysis. However, QCA techniques go far beyond serving as a meeting point between these dominant approaches in the social sciences; they constitute an original and innovative approach in their own right, with distinct and easily recognizable characteristics.
